Organization

I'm sitting here at Brandon's thinking about how much stuff I will have to juggle when I get back home and start working. I'm not stressing about it but I just have this need to jump in and get started. I do much better getting things done when I have more to work in than I do when I have lots of free time like I do right now.

It's nice that my job posts my schedule 6wks at a time so I can hopefully try to make schedules that work around that for at least 6wks. Thank goodness for calendars. I need to jump in and get started, hmm I wonder if there is a way to link my Google calendar to my blog here? I really love that thing it makes things so nicely organized if I remember to use it.

Plans that I know of for the next week-

Saturday (today): Play poker with Brandon/Kim/David/Alexis
Sunday: Take Jerry to the airport (Uncle Emery rides along), assignment due, Kim R B/D
Monday: Disneyland with Mom/Corrina/Matthew/Kayla
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday: Babysit Kayla
Friday: Swimming with Alexis/Natalie/David?
Saturday: Corrina's Graduation

Brea Improv

Brandon, Kim and I went to see John Reep (winner of Last Comic Standing/the "Hemi" commercial guy) at the Brea Improv. That man has so much energy he was wiping me out. I enjoyed his jokes because for the most part there was very little vulgarity and his jokes were tasteful. It was a nice long show too a full two hours with only two openers. Most of his jokes were new to me even though I have caught him a few times on XM. Which is a nice change a lot of times most of the jokes are repeats. Probably not so much for new comedians because they don't have a routine down as much.

We have tentatively made plans to see Craig Shoemaker (The LoveMaster) and Josh Blue while I'm here also. Kim is also working up some kind of girls night which should be fun I haven't done anything like that with her, I'm looking forward to it.

Play Date (Nina's Day 5)

We had a play date with Natalie and Aunt Lex and Uncle David today. We spent a little time at their apartment (the first time I had been there). Then we took the girls to a park. They had a blast, Wee's favorite thing to do was to swing while Kayla just wanted to walk around.

There was a little girl there who wanted to play so bad, she kept trying to drag the girls around by the hand and was determined to be in the middle of every picture.

It was sad, when we had to leave Wee cried for her "Kay". We plan to get together and play in the pool some while Im here so the girls should get some more time to play.

More Job Stuff

Today I got another phone call from Bob. He called to get numbers to check my references (the third such call I have gotten). After a bit of confusion he figured out that he had already offered me a job and I had excepted. He also had the information for the drug test, now I'm supposed to call them tomorrow and make arrangements to take it so they can send the information to SHMC. It was a scary phone call cause I thought they may have gotten my information not in the computer correctly to have me listed as having the job. I have my orientation set up for the week of August 4th. That gives me a nice amount of time to spend in CA and get home before I have to start working.

Somewhere in this time I have to register for my last Summer class, register for Fall and get the classes I'm working on completed. I always seem to keep my time packed, better than being bored though that's for sure. I'm enjoying my time here so far, I've been here less than a week but it seems like I just got here yesterday but I've been here forever.

Nina's Day 4

Today...again no tears :)

We decided to make it a swim day. It was still a bit chilly but we went in anyway. Kayla wasnt all that thrilled to be in the pool but I worked with her for a while and by the time we got out she was okay, but she never did stop clinging to me. It was fun anyway, the weather hasnt been very good for swimming so we decided to make that one day work for sure.

Nina's Day 3

When I picked up Kayla this morning there weren't any tears at all :) She just kissed mommy goodbye and said "mommy ....work". I was sooo happy! I cant stand her tears.

On the way home I decided to try to find some homes I saw a sign for. I never found the homes but the fire station had the truck out instead so we stopped. I left my camera at home but one of the guys was nice enough to take pictures with his phone and send them to me.

The treats she came home with

I so enjoy taking her places that are educational! Whats tomorrow hold?

Christina RN-NICU

I received a phone call today from SHMC, they offered me the 30 hour position in the NICU. I'm pretty excited. I was more excited last week when they let me know I was only waiting on the call for an official job offer. But now that its come in its a relief to not have to wait and worry. I have a few things I have to do while I'm here in CA they are finding me a place to get a drug test done here and we have to set up my orientation for August. I was so shocked when they told me that it was not at all a problem for me to take a vacation and start in August.

I'm happy to be spending time in CA but its also a strange feeling to know that this will be my last summer that's free like this. I'm going to take the time to visit everyone and try to relax as much as possible. I am still doing summer school but I'm trying not to focus on school, to just focus on relaxing.

Nina's Day 2

Today we spent the day inside playing. We spent a lot of time in the music room trying out the different instruments.

Piano Drums Guitar

During the day my parents also had flowers delivered to me as a congrats on my new job.

It was funny cause my mom was about to walk out the garage when someone knocked on the door. I started to get up and get it then sat back down, I laughingly told her the door obviously wasnt for me. When she opened the door she called my name and I was like huh? Guess it was for me after all.

First Day at Nina's

Today was the first day I kept Kayla. I will be keeping her for the summer while Im in CA. I was worried that when I picked her up she would freak out like she did last time and I just couldnt handle that again. But today she only whimpered for about 30 seconds after mommy put her in the car. She seems to understand the concept of mommy going to work now so that helps a lot.

We left the jumper up from Memorial day to give them something to do. The kids had a ton of fun playing on it.

Then we had naps...

Then played outside

It was a fun day, lots of laughter. Gonna do it again tomorrow :)
